PROJECT FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Project-level questions about the token, the contracts and the team. Questions about playing Sherwood Tax Office are answered in the Game FAQ.

DEX Screener / GoPlus shows "Mintable: Yes" — is that a red flag?+

The token does have a mint function — that's by design, not a bug.

$TAX has no fixed total-supply cap. Monthly issuance can continue under the on-chain emission schedule while the system remains operational.

What the scanner can't show you is who can call it: only one contract (EmissionController) can mint, capped at 100M/month by code, and the admin role that could ever add a new minter has been permanently renounced — verify it yourself on Blockscout ↗.

“Has a mint function” and “anyone can mint freely” are different things; automated scanners only check the former. 🏹

What protections exist against common rug mechanisms?+

The two most common rug mechanisms are closed off on-chain:

  1. LP is burned. Liquidity can never be withdrawn — verify the LP burn transaction ↗.
  2. The minting admin role is renounced. No one, including the developer, can mint outside the fixed schedule — verify the renounce transaction ↗.

These controls remove two common rug vectors, but they do not make $TAX risk-free. Market volatility, holder sales, vested unlocks, smart-contract vulnerabilities, chain conditions, and continued game operation remain risks.

Is $TAX an investment?+
No. $TAX is not an investment product, and no profit is promised or implied. It is a memecoin used within an experimental game ecosystem. Do your own research and never risk money you cannot afford to lose.
How is the developer compensated?+

The developer receives no genesis allocation and no pre-mine. Compensation is a fixed share of each monthly emission — 3% during months 1–6 and 5% from month 7 onward — minted by the contract to a fixed, disclosed wallet.

Sales from that wallet follow a standing, published policy rather than one-off announcements: see the Developer Sell Schedule.

What are the official channels?+

Only these are official — admins will never DM you first and will never ask for your seed phrase:
